  • Justice's Decent Second Album

    3 out of 5 stars
    KyBoopqUnRtCutko22 October 2025United States🇺🇸

At last, Justice's second album has arrived! But, I must say, it's a bit underwhelming. I'm not going to lie, I wasn't head over heels for their debut. It was alright, but it felt a tad too one-dimensional. Unfortunately, this new album suffers from the same issue. This time around, Justice has adopted a lighter, more upbeat tone. The album is a mishmash of House, Electronic, a dash of funk, alternative, and believe it or not, 70s/80s rock. It's quite the concoction, but a few tracks here do give off those classic 70s/80s rock vibes. The album kicks off with "Horsepower," which doesn't quite feel like an opener, but more like an intro to "Civilization," the next track. "Civilization" is the first single and one of the standout songs on this album. It's a fantastic blend of rock and electronic. After that, we get a few lackluster tracks like "Ohio," "Brianvision," and "Parade." But don't worry, there are some solid, hard-hitting tracks too, such as "Canon (Primo) and Canon" [which I think is a cheeky nod to "Phantom Pt 1 & 2" from their first album], "On'n'On", "New Lands", and "Helix". The one thing that really confuses me is their choice to place the title track at the end of the album. I'm never a fan when artists put their title track at the beginning or the end. Plus, I'd heard the single version before and was let down by how muddy it sounded, missing that bass punch I craved. Well, the album version does the track justice, literally. It adds an extra minute and a half at the end, finally delivering that bass you've been waiting for. All in all, it's a decent album. The vocals and instruments can get a bit monotonous, but I guess that's just their style. It lacks flow. It's like a lighter version of "Cross," but definitely not a replacement. 3 out of 5.
