Incredible tunes and audio on this amazing live album that catches the band in an extraordinary state. One of the finest live recordings I have, and it sounds particularly impressive on this vinyl version. Highly suggest it.
This DVD is an absolute essential for any Ozrics fan. It's packed with a heap of their signature ethereal tunes, featuring their entire 2-hour set from the Pongmastres Ball in 2002. The setlist covers a wide range of their career, from the ambient 'It's a Hup Ho World' released way back in '89 to the then-unreleased Oakum jam, which is presented in a much better version than the one on Spirals...). You'll find all the different sides of their music here too: ambient interludes, exotic textures, dub grooves, techno influences, and of course, full-on space rock. And let's not forget a sprinkle of their usual oddness (like Sploosh).The light show at their gigs is always incredible, and it's captured beautifully here, adding that extra something to the experience. Having been at the Ball, I can confirm that the sound quality on the DVD is even better than the live event, almost studio-quality (though it could be a tad louder).To make it even better, there's a documentary about the gig, including soundcheck jams, interviews with pretty much everyone involved, and clips from the Nodens Ictus performance (which was filmed but hasn't been released).This DVD is as good as any Ozrics gig you've attended, and if you haven't been to one, it'll show you why people keep coming back time after time. And time again. 9/10
