I can't say more than what's already been said, except to express my full agreement. It's as if Chuck Israels is right here in my living room. The sound is clear, upfront, harmonically rich, and so present. The same can be said for Evans and Bunker, but the bass truly stands out to me.
Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness! I was torn between this one and the newest OJC pressing. I chose this based on the average rating and because so many of the recent "remasters" out there (across all genres and labels) just don't sound right to me. I can't quite explain why... Anyway, the sleeve and vinyl are a bit thinner than the latest pressing, but WOW, the sound is absolutely amazing. I've been listening to the OJC 20-bit CD remaster on and off for over ten years, and when I played this today, it felt like I was hearing this album for the very first time. I can't compare this pressing to the newest remaster, but I can tell you, without a doubt, that this version sounds PHENOMENAL.
This pressing is fantastic, the sound quality is so much crisper and cleaner than many of the recent reissues I've purchased.
Outstanding sound reproduction, truly exceptional. Zero background interference. Grado3 wooden tonearm.
The vinyl's quality is absolutely fantastic. Super quiet surface, beautiful labels, you name it… The track recording is brilliantly done too. Crisp, clear mix. I was blown away by how well the bass is captured and sits in the mix. It's upfront and it's awesome. Drums are a tad to the right, bass leans left, and Bill's right in the center. Outstanding source recording! Highly recommend.
