I was happy to find this record at a very reasonable price but the mix is just too hot. Lots of distortion in the treble area. It's tough listen but the music great. Maybe a different pressing?
Released originally under the name "Prestige All-Stars"; with Kenny Burrell becoming the most well-known out of that quintet, they later released this album under his name and with a different cover, though I wouldn't say the tracks are particularly focused on his guitar playing (though they are certainly a highlight). Great recordings here, with the opening interplay in 'Slim Jim' being a particular standout.
