INCREDIBLE. 11·11·11. I'm giving it a listen, really digging it... then, all of a sudden, Tell It Like It Is starts creeping in. Around the 4 minute mark, sounds begin to build up; and at 6:33, the star of the show ( * ) there's this one piano note, it's gorgeous, it carries on and pops up again around 8:30. Siberian Breaks, and now they've done it once more. It’s an amazing album, outstanding for a live one. I'm puzzled about the live album part. Some of it seems too perfect to be live, and why wouldn't they just release a studio album with this stuff. But hey, the important thing is it's so great to have another MGMT album.
INCREDIBLE. 11·11·11. I'm immersed, loving it... then, all of a sudden, Tell It Like It Is begins to creep in. Around the 4 minute point, sounds start to build up; and at 6:33, the highlight ( * ) there's a single piano note, which is stunning, it lingers and resurfaces around 8:30. Some of it seems too polished to be live, and why not release a studio album from this material. Either way, the key thing is it's so great to have another MGMT album.
The album came with some dirt and factory smudges, but it's another fantastic MGMT release, sounding just as great as their usual work. The fade between Side A and Side B is a nice touch too, it kinda hides the fact that they split up that amazing live transition.
Absolutely gorgeous, this album is a vinyl masterpiece. It's everything you'd hope for and even more. 10/10 in my opinion. Perfectly pressed in the dead wax.
