In all honesty, this album by Madlib is just your run-of-the-mill stuff and seemed like he didn't put much effort into it. If BBE was my label, I'd probably been chillin' or somethin' when I got this submission. I was really let down when it first came out, and now, listening again, I feel the same way. There's a few decent beats scattered around, but a lot of them feel like he just pulled 'em from his old files. And the vocal tracks? Most of 'em are just okay, with Defari and Guilty Simpson just kinda phoning it in. Only for die-hard fans, I'd say.
