The audio is amazing! I really like the smoky look of the vinyl, and the photo book that comes with it is top-notch, super glossy!
If I could, I'd give this 4.5 stars. It's an amazing first album, and considering these were just kids, aged 18-20 when they recorded it, the music's maturity and the cleverness of the lyrics are truly impressive for their age. The vinyl sounds great and is definitely worth buying. There's a bit of compression and some sibilance/distortion in the vocals. Like others have said, it'd be nice to have a 45RPM version or a repress spread over 3 or 4 sides. This album is that good... maybe for its 20th anniversary in 2026?
As usual, VMP has delivered an excellent pressing. However, I'm noticing some harshness on side B that's keeping me from giving it a perfect score. Still, it's undoubtedly the best version of this album available.
Excellent quality, no problems here. A few tiny clicks on the second song, but it's really no big deal!
Wow, such a young band at that time! (The lead singer was around 17 years old, I think...) Their energy is incredible, a typically British efficiency that rocks! 💥
