This isn't the most silent record I've come across, but it's not too shabby either. There's just a slight, constant 'whoosh' in the calmest parts. From a musical standpoint, it's an excellent sequel to their debut, Theatre Of Tragedy - Theatre Of Tragedy. It's quite similar in style, featuring 'beauty and the beast' vocals atop doom metal tunes. The lyrics are mostly in Olde Englisch, with one track in German. The themes are worth pondering. It's far from typical doom metal fare, offering some genuinely thoughtful content.
Звук отличный, но есть небольшие потрескивания, которые заметны в тихих местах. В целом, неплохой вариант для прослушивания. Кстати, пластинки весом по 150 грамм.
Some early Japanese versions messed with the original art and text on the back cover, particularly the disc's design.
Fantastic re-release! Kudos to cosmic key creations! I'm blown away by the richness and the crispness of the audio. Plus, zero surface noise troubles too!
In this album, Liv Kristine takes on a more prominent lead vocal role, which is a definite plus. The rough male vocals are still there, creating a striking beauty/beast contrast. It's incredibly dark with a powerful doom atmosphere. The sound is fantastic.
