Product description

The Moody Blues' 1969 masterpiece, To Our Children's Children's Children, is a seminal work of progressive rock that continues to captivate audiences with its timeless themes and soaring soundscapes. This fifth studio album from the iconic English rock band is a testament to their innovative spirit and musical prowess. With its richly textured blend of psychedelic rock, symphonic rock, and art rock, To Our Children's Children's Children is an aural journey that transports listeners to a bygone era of cosmic exploration and social change.

Featuring classic tracks like "Higher And Higher", "The Eyes Of A Child", and "Watching And Waiting", the album showcases The Moody Blues' unique ability to craft songs that are both deeply personal and universally relatable. The band's use of sweeping orchestral arrangements, haunting melodies, and poetic lyrics creates a sense of depth and complexity that rewards repeated listens.

Released on 21 November 1969, To Our Children's Children's Children has become a beloved classic of the progressive rock genre, influencing generations of musicians and fans alike. With its themes of hope, wonder, and exploration, this album remains a powerful and enduring statement from one of the most innovative and influential bands of the 20th century. I couldn't agree more with show biz kid. This is hands-down the finest pressing I've ever had of this record, and that includes other US pressings, plus German and UK originals. Absolutely breathtaking!

  • US Pressing's Sonic Excellence

    5 out of 5 stars
    Dxipyac_VuwApril 26, 2025United StatesπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

In my opinion, this might just be the most sonically impressive among the original US pressings I've come across. It truly stands out, offering unparalleled auditory clarity. The sound is incredibly transparent, crisp, and precise. The vinyl quality is superb, with minimal surface noiseβ€”even better than the Pitman pressings I own, and it's nearly on par with the MFSL Original Master disc. Highly recommended!

About The Moody Blues

The Moody Blues, hailing from Birmingham, England, are a legendary rock band that emerged in 1964 and have since left an indelible mark on the music world. Initially rooted in the British beat and R&B scene, the band quickly evolved, embracing the psychedelic and progressive rock movements of the late 1960s. Their groundbreaking second album, "Days of Future Passed," released in 1967, is a seminal work that fused rock with classical music, establishing the Moody Blues as pioneers in art rock and progressive rock. This landmark album is often credited as one of the first successful concept albums, showcasing the band's innovative approach to blending genres.

With a lineup that included Graeme Edge, Mike Pinder, Ray Thomas, Justin Hayward, and John Lodge, the Moody Blues crafted a unique sound characterized by lush Mellotron orchestrations and intricate harmonies. Their discography is a treasure trove of timeless hits, including "Nights in White Satin," "Tuesday Afternoon," and "Your Wildest Dreams." These songs, along with many others, have captivated audiences worldwide, contributing to the band's impressive sales of over 70 million albums.

The Moody Blues' influence extends beyond their music, as they have inspired countless bands and artists. Their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018 is a testament to their enduring legacy. Whether you're a longtime fan or new to their music, exploring the Moody Blues' catalog is an enriching experience that offers a journey through the evolution of rock music.
