  Has anyone else spotted that weird sparkly, misty effect on their copy? Upon closer inspection, it seems like there's a bunch of tiny holes scattered across both discs, but oddly enough, it doesn't mess with the sound quality at all. All in all, it sounds pretty great, even if it is a tad on the quiet side.

  While not my top pick from the Trilogy series (I still adore it), this reissue on vinyl is, in my view, the finest. The mastering and lacquer cut are superb, delivering a dynamic and rich sound. It's as close to perfection as you can get from a high-resolution digital source transfer. I've noticed that other reissues like Echoes and House of Blues have quite a bit of surface noise (thanks a lot, United), but surprisingly, this one has very little. Compared to Echoes, it's a bit louder, which I think helps a lot. Sonically, Thursday and Echoes are quite similar, but Thursday just has a bit more crispness and punch. I believe that since Echoes relies heavily on its quiet moments, it really suffers when the vinyl isn't completely silent. The gatefold is thick and sturdy. This product is everything I could have wished for. It's one of the rare times a URP issue doesn't mess up the final result. I updated the runouts yesterday, and it seems they used the same stampers for these discs as they did for The Trilogy Box. It's unclear if the box set was manufactured/pressed by United, so maybe the vinyl is dead quiet for that one. But you can expect the same sound here as if you took the Thursday LP straight out of the box set. Also, Valerie is the only bonus track from the Trilogy set that I don't skip, so extra points there.
