Seriously, this album is so overlooked. I'm obsessed with it!
Lovers of this album, you're in for a treat with this remaster—it's incredible! Just like those other remastered vinyls, 'The Killing Is My Business...' and 'The System Has Failed'. If you've been holding out for a copy of this album, grab it now! You won't regret it! \m/
The 2019 edition is absolutely brilliant. Both discs are perfectly flat, no bends or anything. The audio quality is top-notch, zero flaws. It's just outstanding.
In my heart, this is my second favorite Megadeth album, a non-stop collection of incredible tracks from beginning to end! Every single song here is a masterpiece in my opinion, with lyrics that are beautifully written, evocative, and often tell compelling stories. The guitar work is incredibly impactful, impressive, and unforgettable, with tuning that might just be the best I've ever heard. The pacing is a bit relaxed, giving room for breath and changes in tempo, which I really appreciate. Each listen feels fresh and unique! This CD, this glorious CD, on every system I've played it on, the sound quality is absolutely stunning—crisp, clean, with just the right amount of bass, truly flawless considering when it was released! Getting back to the tracks, I'll say it again, they're all amazing. From the captivating "Disconnect" to the fantastic "Am I Evil?" tribute "When," it never lets up. Every song is the best version of itself, and the experimentation on some tracks only adds to their appeal. "1000 Times Goodbye" has some of the most memorable and catchy riffs ever, and its silliness only adds to its charm and uniqueness. "Burning Bridges" follows it brilliantly, even having its main riff as a harder version of the previous one. The vocals and guitar playing during the chorus are also something else, something hypnotizing, awesome. The title track starts heavy but then shifts into full-on thrash mode, unleashing one of the most memorable parts of the album. It reminds me of how Mastermind's solo similarly pops up unexpectedly and is used to great effect, but here it goes even further, far beyond! "Moto Psycho" is catchy, perfect for speeding, "Losing My Sense" is beautiful and blissful, "Promises" is astonishingly so, magnificently arranged. "Recipe for Hate... Warhorse" has a vengeful intro, leading to a thrashy as hell finale. "When" is perfect, the lead-up to and sequel to one of their greatest tracks is awesome, and it even outdoes the original in my opinion! The presentation of this record is incredible too, that cover art, the red tints on everything, the booklet! Everything about this album is perfect in my heart, the truth of silence is golden.
This remaster is fantastic. The sound is crystal clear and it's super fun to turn up loud.
