Product description

The Glow, Pt. 2, the captivating album by Mount Eerie, is a poignant masterpiece that weaves a sonic tapestry of slowcore and indie folk. Released on 11 September 2001 via P.W. Elverum & Sun, this hour-and-a-half-long journey is a deeply personal and introspective exploration of the human experience.

From the opening notes of 'I Want Wind to Blow' to the closing strains of 'My Warm Blood', Mount Eerie's distinctive voice and instrumentation guide the listener through a world of emotional depth and complexity. The tracklist is a carefully curated sequence of songs that ebb and flow like a gentle stream, with moments of quiet contemplation ('The Moon') giving way to bursts of energetic release ('Headless Horseman').

Throughout the album, Mount Eerie's signature slowcore sound is augmented by elements of indie folk, creating a sense of intimacy and vulnerability that draws the listener in. The instrumental tracks, such as 'Instrumental' and 'Instrumental - 2', provide a sense of space and atmosphere, allowing the listener to reflect on the emotions and themes that have been explored.

With its thoughtful pacing and nuanced soundscapes, The Glow, Pt. 2 is an album that rewards close attention and repeated listens. As Mount Eerie's vision unfolds, the listener is invited to immerse themselves in a world of subtle beauty and profound emotion, where the boundaries between joy and sorrow, hope and despair, are gently blurred.

This is a 2017 Reissue Remastered Repress released as a 2LP set.

Apart from some tracks having massive bass, this release is TOP-NOTCH, a definite must-own

  • Original Pressing Sounds Phenomenal

    5 out of 5 stars
    ocaixunzuwDecember 24, 2025United StatesπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

This is an incredible sounding pressing of one of my all-time favorite albums. I don't own either of the represses to make a comparison, as I was after an original copy, but I have to say it sounds phenomenal. The vinyl is perfectly flat with great dynamics and a presence that really fills the room. It's like Phil is right there with you, singing and playing his guitar. My only tiny gripe is why the cover has a different color than usual, it's much bluer than the CD version but that's just a small detail. All in all, this is a flawless album and an awesome sounding vinyl to match, so if you have the cash, go for an original!

  • Sound Quality and Packaging

    4 out of 5 stars
    naacxm94December 22, 2025United StatesπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

The sound quality of these records is fantastic, and the packaging is absolutely stunning! I just wish the fold was horizontal instead of vertical. There's a big poster with the lyrics and a smaller one included, both of which are really cool. The only downside is that the inner sleeves feel cheap and flimsy.

  • Album's Sound Perfectly Captured

    5 out of 5 stars
    WadfYeIKohiDihizNovember 30, 2025United StatesπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

This press truly brings out the amazing sound of the album! The stunning and emotionally powerful music was perfectly captured in this release and its packaging. It's definitely one of my top picks in my collection.
