Product description

Dive into the atmospheric and introspective world of The Microphones with "Mount Eerie," their fourth studio album released on January 21, 2003. This slowcore and indie folk masterpiece, released under the P.W. Elverum & Sun label, is a five-act journey that unfolds like a profound and surreal play, blending words and music with a childlike simplicity that belies its depth.

"Mount Eerie" spans just 40 minutes but packs a punch with its five meticulously crafted tracks: "I. The Sun," "II. Solar System," "III. Universe," "IV. Mount Eerie," and "V. Universe." Each song is a standalone piece, yet they seamlessly weave together to create a cohesive and immersive experience. The album's experimental and lo-fi elements add layers of intrigue, making it a standout in the indie rock and folk genres.

The Microphones, known for their intimate and introspective songwriting, delve into themes of existential questioning and a search for meaning. The album's haunting vocals and long, winding soundscapes create a hauntingly beautiful atmosphere that lingers long after the final note fades. "Mount Eerie" is a testament to the band's unique vision and their ability to craft music that is both deeply personal and universally resonant.

This is a 2022 Reissue Remastered released as a LP.

In my opinion, this is the ultimate version of the album to possess. The three-part artwork unfolds into a stunning illustration, and the hand-stitched cover enhances the personal and rustic feel of the record. The vinyl's sound quality is excellent, making this the ideal way to enjoy the 40-minute voyage through time and space that is Mount Eerie.

The heavy-duty cardboard cover and the included fold-out poster are absolutely fantastic in terms of quality. The record's audio is incredibly impressive, with zero pops or crackles to be found. I wholeheartedly endorse it! :)
