  • Sabbath's Shining Gem

Great album! If it wasn't Sabbath, definitely 5 stars. For Sabbath's catalogue, just 4. But The Shining makes it 4.5 though😁😁

  • Superb Sound Quality

This repress is fantastic, the sound quality is superb and there's none of that irritating background noise.

  • New Beginnings, Familiar Sound

    5 out of 5 stars
    XoheotufvYtiubboJuly 30, 2025United StatesπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Kicking off an album series with their fresh vocalist Tony Martin, this marks a new beginning for the band. They collaborated for years, resulting in five albums together. "Eternal Idol" doesn't quite pack the dark punch of the upcoming "Headless Cross." The sound here is more balanced, modernized, aiming to appeal to a wider audience. Back then, Tony Martin was still finding his footing, so you can hear him experimenting with his vocals, drawing from singers like Ronnie James Dio, Klaus Meine, or Bruce Dickinson. Released in 1987, this album mirrors the sound of rock bands like Scorpions and Bon Jovi who were dominating the charts. It's a Black Sabbath take on that commercial rock vibe, with a darker edge.

  • Vinyl Revival Triumphs

    ofVunFoviqApril 21, 2025United StatesπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

At last, the album that was absent from the anno domini boxset is back on vinyl. The sound quality is fantastic, and it's a superb LP.

  • Remastered Album Delight

    5 out of 5 stars
    STJ3537April 20, 2025United StatesπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

The hype sticker mentions it's remastered from analog tapes, but the album jacket says it's a digital recording. Regardless, it's a great listen. No regrets about adding this to my collection.
