Syrian Symphony / Phoenix in Exile - Malek Jandali

Product description

Malek Jandali's "Syrian Symphony / Phoenix in Exile" is a compelling neoclassical album that showcases the composer's unique voice and profound connection to his Syrian heritage. Released on October 5, 2014, under his own label, this album is a testament to Jandali's artistic evolution and his unwavering pride in his roots, despite being in exile.

The album opens with "Variations for Piano and Orchestra," setting the stage for the four-movement "Syrian Symphony." Each movement, from the energetic "Allegro Non Troppo Ma Molto Energico" to the soothing "Andante," offers a distinct emotional landscape, expertly crafted by Jandali. The symphony is performed by The Russian Philharmonic Orchestra, bringing Jandali's compositions to life with their virtuosity.

The album concludes with "Phoenix in Exile," a piece composed in New York City and recorded in London with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. This track encapsulates Jandali's personal journey and his resilience, much like the mythical phoenix rising from the ashes.

"Syrian Symphony / Phoenix in Exile" is a powerful exploration of Jandali's musical prowess and his deep-seated connection to his homeland. It's a journey through his experiences, emotions, and artistic vision, all encapsulated in a 47-minute neoclassical masterpiece.
