I've noticed some minor but noticeable misprints at the start of my copy. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time I've encountered this issue with BN European presses. It's truly disappointing for a brand of this caliber and has even led me to send back some records in the past. I firmly believe Don Was needs to step up and enhance the factory's quality control. Honestly, these days, buying a BN vinyl feels like opening a box of surprises. On the bright side, the sound quality is excellent, and this is yet another fantastic piece by J.Lage. His imagination and versatility are truly inspiring. I absolutely love how he takes elements from rock, folk, and classic blues, and makes them uniquely his own. Lastly, I must mention the inner cardboard sleeve as a downside. It really should come with an antistatic inner sleeve.
This pressing isn't the most quiet one out there. The sound quality is decent and lively, however, the vinyl itself is quite crackly and noisy. I'm not overly disappointed considering I grabbed it for $16 during Blue Note's Black Friday sale, but given that this album has plenty of soft passages, the constant crackling and surface noise becomes a bothersome and ever-present nuisance.
Absolutely, mind blown. I'm a bit biased towards side 2, but this is incredible. I impulsively bought 3 of his albums and I'm amazed. This record is an exhilarating journey, standout tracks for me are Emily and Day&Age. The pressing is alright, sounds pretty good but there's some hiss. I reckon it's in the stamper and probably won't be different if you grab another copy. I wish BN would invest more to make these like the Tone Poets but I understand. Either way, the music is so brilliant it overshadows the pressing noise, which isn't that noticeable anyway. Highly recommend this one.
Great pressing. Sounds really warm and quite clear. The guitar is prominent up front, but everything else is a bit too soft in the background, but that's just the mix.
Awful pressing, this is the worst Blue Note vinyl I've ever encountered
