It's truly disappointing that most of Julian Lage's albums lack punch and depth in terms of dynamics. They only shine when cranked up loud, but at lower volumes, the overall sound comes off as flat and lifeless. What's even more disheartening is that today's alternative music scene is way more dynamic (The Smiles, Geordie Greep, Willow).
