Alright, it's Friday Music so I get why you might be a tad doubtful. But let me tell you, this one's fantastic! The splatter vinyl is super flat and barely makes a sound. Plus, the EQ on this record's been adjusted just right, making the soundstage feel fuller and Stanley's bass lines stand out more in the mix compared to my original pressing. But don't worry, it's not over the top. Definitely a solid upgrade!
Must-have early work from the incredible Stanley Clarke. The second-hand version I have has some background hiss and a couple of pops, but the tunes are still amazing.
Stanley Clarke’s 'School Days' (1976) – Quick ReviewA pivotal moment in jazz fusion and bass guitar mastery, this album showcases Clarke’s inventive playing and songwriting talents. It blends groovy rhythms, complex jazz chords, and rock power, particularly on the standout title track that’s become a fusion classic.Verdict: Groovy, lively, and revolutionary — a essential addition for jazz fusion and bass enthusiasts alike.
This album sounds absolutely amazing! Every detail is so crisp and impactful. Plus, the musicianship is pure 70's fusion at its finest. And let's not forget, Ken Scott co-produced it!
Absolutely adore this album, the sound quality is phenomenal and the pressing is incredible. My copy has a promo sticker on the bottom front edge.
