Product description

Immerse yourself in the captivating world of fashion icon Halston through the evocative lens of legendary bassist and composer Stanley Clarke. Released on June 7, 2019, via Node Records, "Halston" is the original motion picture soundtrack to the critically-acclaimed documentary that chronicles the meteoric rise and tragic fall of the iconic designer who revolutionized women's fashion in the 1970s and early '80s.

Spanning a concise yet impactful 58 minutes, this 22-track album is a masterclass in jazz fusion, jazz funk, and smooth jazz, showcasing Clarke's unparalleled skill as a composer and musician. The soundtrack serves as a sonic companion to the film, weaving together archival footage and intimate interviews with Halston's inner circle, including luminaries like Liza Minnelli and Iman.

From the pulsating energy of "H-Magic" to the introspective "Remembering His Family," each track offers a unique perspective on Halston's extraordinary life and career. Clarke's compositions effortlessly blend the glamour and excess of Studio 54 with the quiet moments of reflection, providing a comprehensive musical portrait of an era and an artist who left an indelible mark on the world of fashion.

With a career spanning over four decades, Stanley Clarke has established himself as one of the most celebrated bassists and composers in the world. His extensive work in film and television, including three Emmy Award nominations, underscores his ability to create compelling scores that resonate with audiences. "Halston" is a testament to his enduring talent and his unique ability to capture the essence of a story through music.

Whether you're a fan of jazz, fashion, or simply great storytelling, "Halston" is an album that demands your attention. Dive into the world of Halston and experience the genius of Stanley Clarke through this unforgettable soundtrack.
