Whether a review is positive, negative, or neutral, we always publish it. However, we screen every review to ensure it is authentic and free of profanity. These checks happen automatically, though a human occasionally steps in. We never pay for reviews.
Budget-friendly re-release, remixes fall flat, a bit of hiss. Doesn't quite match up to The Twinz re-issue, which is awesome and has a similar feel.
Disappointed in this purchase. Sound quality is lacking, with oddly sharp highs, no richness, and no impact. Even after cleaning, there's still noticeable surface noise.
First time reviewing!? This vinyl version is absolutely amazing, no doubt it's top 10 classic hip-hop albums of all time, hands down. You gotta experience it with good headphones!
I searched for this album for about a month and finally came across it. I hurried back to give it a spin and was instantly disappointed. I wouldn't say it's unlistenable, but if you appreciate high-quality vinyl, the Def Jam 40th anniversary pressing is pure garbage and NOT worth it. Would not suggest this pressing.
My records appear to have a touch of surface hiss but it's not something that'll bug me. Just enough to give the tunes that classic vinyl feel. Apart from that, it sounds fantastic. As for the album, it's a quintessential west coast "g funk" masterpiece. A joy to listen to, start to finish.
