to be honest, i'm not a fan of ub 40's music after their initial 2 albums and their early live record...they took a turn towards the mainstream and put out some truly awful songs like red wine and kingston town, which i just can't stand listening to...their debut album was/is a true gem of british dub reggae, it was recorded in a bedroom/garden (you can hear birds chirping in the background sometimes...) and has a deep, calming vibe with a unique style. even now, it sounds fresh and timeless. this is a dub version of their second album, i'm not super familiar with the original. i'm a huge dub enthusiast, especially the classic stuff from the 70s and early 80s, king tubby, scientist, etc. it's a genuinely great dub album from start to finish, the rhythm section is fantastic. this is perfect for unwinding. dub is both: ethereal and grounded, which is amazing. so any dub lover should definitely give this a listen!
