This presentation is quite good, but I'd have really enjoyed a booklet filled with early Rhymesayers pics, graffiti, tour van shots, and such.
This is a fantastic hip-hop album from the underground scene, and it stands as Atmosphere's finest work. Slug and Spawn's intense lyricism, combined with Ant's distinctive production, makes this a must-have for any hip-hop enthusiast. Standout tracks include "Current Status" featuring Beyond, "Sound Is Vibration", which boasts an amazing harp sample, and "The Outernet". While Spawn may not shine as brightly as Slug in terms of rhyming, he still delivers exceptional performances, particularly on his solo tracks "Caved In", where he discusses dealing with his father's passing, and "Complications", which explores a tumultuous break-up. Overall, this is a stellar album from start to finish.
Across all gloomy pressings (I believe) the 18th song is a unnamed/secret track titled "primer" but on this one it's a diffrent track which is neat in my opinion cause I already got it on the ep. I'm pretty sure I caught this track back then, but I can't recall the name.
This album has never sounded better. There's some "surface noise" all the way through, but that's just part of the samples and it's like that in every digital copy too.
