This album is an amazing assortment of tracks. Sean's clever lyricism and genuine feelings are truly captivating. His flow blends seamlessly with Ant's beats, highlighting the seriousness of the topics while keeping the music incredibly pleasant. The vinyl isn't completely noise-free, but it's a hip-hop record, not a classical piece. The bass is quite strong, sometimes overpowering Slug's voice, but I like to pretend the recording was made with him sprawled on the tiles of God's bathroom floor, nursing a massive hangover.
Here's the second LP from Atmosphere, hailing from Minnesota, and it's another brilliant addition to their impressive collection of albums. However, there's one crucial detail that slipped through the cracks when they sent over the tracklist: they forgot to include the hidden bonus track, 'Homecoming', which features El-P. It's the only time he's collaborated with Atmosphere, and they didn't even list it on the album cover. I was thrilled when I reached the end of the album and discovered it, just like many of you probably were or will be. It's a classic, no doubt about it.
The audio is fantastic. Truly top-notch. This is definitly one of my best Atmosphere albums.
