Product description

"Music For Dancing" by The Grid is a captivating collection of electronic dance music that serves as a fitting swan song before the duo's hiatus in 1996. Released on January 29, 1995, under the Deconstruction label, this album is a treasure trove of remixes of their previously released tracks, along with one new track, "Diablo." The Grid, consisting of David Ball and Richard Norris, delivers a seamless blend of their signature sound, spanning a total of 11 tracks and a duration of 74 minutes.

The album kicks off with "Floatation - Subsonic Grid Mix," setting the tone for an electrifying journey through various mixes such as "Crystal Clear - 456 Mix," "Boom! - Freestyle Mix," and "Figure Of 8 - Tribal Trance Mix." Each track is a testament to The Grid's mastery of electronic music, showcasing their ability to craft infectious beats and atmospheric soundscapes. Notable remixes include "Rollercoaster - Nemesis Mix" and "Texas Cowboys - Ricochet Mix," which add a dynamic layer to the album's overall appeal.

"Music For Dancing" is not just an album but a testament to The Grid's innovative approach to electronic music. It's a must-listen for fans of the genre and those who appreciate the artistry of remixing. The album's diverse tracks, from the Southern Comfort Mix of "Swamp Thing" to the Global Communication Yellow Submarine Re-Take of "Rollercoaster," highlight the duo's versatility and creativity. • Grid Remixes Delight

This album offers a pleasant variety of remixes from The Grid's first three records. The music is hard to criticize, but I do wish there were more mixes by other artists, as The Grid's own versions often just stretched out the dance tracks. Where's that Brian Eno remix of "Heartbeat"? Or the Orb's take on "Crystal Clear"? It's a small gripe, though -- the album is still a joy to listen to, with the Andrew Weatherall remix of "Floatation" and Global Communication's version of "Rollercoaster" being the highlights.
