I grabbed my copy on a whim from HMV for just a quid in their bargain bucket, what a steal! It's aged like fine wine and sounds fantastic even after multiple listens.

  • Nostalgic Album Rediscovery

    4 out of 5 stars

After many years, I decided to give this album a spin again, and I'm thrilled I did. It's not just the iconic "Floatation" that I'm loving, but "Intergalactica" has also grown on me once more. It truly takes me back to my early days of playing records. Now, I'm on the hunt for a few Guerilla 12's... What a time!

  • Nostalgic Techno Journey

    3 out of 5 stars
    jmeeqrnujJune 5, 2024United States🇺🇸

Oh, those nostalgic techno days, when NASA samples dominated the scene (check out "One Giant Step" for instance). The Grid's debut album, _Electric Head_, definitely shows its age, but it's still a blast to listen to, from the slow pulses of "Are You Receiving" to the pounding "Intergalactica." Granted, many of the tracks are forgettable house tunes ("Driving Instructor," "This Must Be Heaven") or just plain awful ("Doctor Celine"), but on the bright side, there's the early club favorite "Beat Called Love." Even better, the album closes with the ultimate chill-out track "Floatation." It's a heavenly track, good enough to make up for the other less impressive parts of the album.
