Back to Black often gets criticized, but I think this pressing is alright. It's a tad squashed, but the dynamics are decent and it's a clean, well-pressed copy.
Wow, this pressing is absolutely incredible! The sound quality is top-notch, with powerful bass, crisp guitars, and drums that really pack a punch. I haven't heard the original pressing, but I can't picture it being any better than this. If you come across a copy, it's a must-have for any Weezer enthusiast. It's like a perfect mix of Blue and Pinkerton, Rivers really outdid himself with these tracks. Pure, classic Weezer all the way through. Don't hesitate to buy, even if it costs a bit more, because this album is an absolute gem from start to finish.
Among the top back to black pressings out there. This Weezer album might be underrated, but it's got some solid tracks like Slave and Dope Nose. Grabbed it for a bargain and was happily surprised to find the record free from any hissing.
Fortunately, my pressing turns out to be quite decent for being a UME. But seriously, who else is tired of there being no song titles on the record labels? That's just the peak of lazy carelessness.
Upon a second listen, I've come to appreciate the pressing more than I did at first. It's clearly mastered on the hot side, and they've done a commendable job with the source material, which I suspect is some version of Pro Tools. I suppose I'll just have to wait for the inevitable AI upres in 2052.
