it arrived today, and it's a bit dissapointing, i picked it up from tower records and it had an extra obi with the price on it, but the design wasn't great (you can see where they cut the logos, not a good look), the obi inside the wrap has the wrong product code (JAG415JCD) and it was pressed in the czech republic, no thoughts on that (i was thinking this was made in japan, but it's just a japanese distribution edition) the sound quality was awesome, no hissing on my copy and the color is really cool.
Absolutely stunning. THIS is exactly how the 20th anniversary edition of The White Stripes' White Blood Cells ought to have appeared. Even better, the sound quality is fantastic too! I only encountered a minor issue on track A1, with some clicks at the start and a single louder pop towards the end. After playing it twice and giving it a few wipes, the problem mostly disappeared, leaving just a few faint clicks. Nothing major, likely to vanish after a more thorough cleaning. Essentially, a perfect release. The cover is quite lovely, featuring silver foiled details where the rest is white. The copy I have looks really good, and the sound isn't causing me as much trouble as it does for others. But, I do notice small pops now and then. It's not terrible, but I can definitely hear them.
Received this today - it sounds amazing, spotted that it's mastered by Ryan K Smith at Sterling, so it's bound to be great. Both sides are clean and noise-free. Grabbed my copy here in the UK.
Picked up a used version and it's fantastic! The audio is full, clear, and full of life.
