Product description

"Bury Me At Makeout Creek" is the third studio album by Mitski, released on November 11, 2014, via Double Double Whammy. This concise yet powerful collection of songs clocks in at just over 30 minutes, but it packs a punch that belies its brief runtime. Mitski's distinctive voice and inventive songwriting shine throughout the album's 10 tracks, offering a raw and intimate glimpse into her experiences and perspectives.

The album opens with "Texas Reznikoff," setting the tone for the introspective journey that follows. Mitski's lyrics are evocative and poetic, exploring themes of identity, love, and the struggles of young adulthood. Tracks like "Townie" and "First Love/Late Spring" delve into the complexities of relationships and self-discovery, while "Francis Forever" and "I Don't Smoke" showcase Mitski's knack for crafting memorable hooks and catchy melodies.

"Bury Me At Makeout Creek" is a testament to Mitski's growth as an artist, blending elements of indie rock, punk, and folk to create a sound that is uniquely her own. The album's production is stripped-down and intimate, allowing Mitski's vocals and lyrics to take center stage. Whether you're a long-time fan of Mitski or a newcomer to her music, "Bury Me At Makeout Creek" is an essential addition to any indie rock collection.

This 2019 Limited Edition Reissue LP is pressed on Black vinyl.

  • Crackling Mitski Record

    4 out of 5 stars
    okogesatcilOctober 16, 2025United States🇺🇸

Overall, my copy's alright, but there's some clear crackling that's pretty loud, especially in the first half of both sides. I'm not sure if I'll return it for a replacement or just keep this one. I haven't tried a spin clean yet, so that might fix it? Seems like a common issue with these gold Mitski records, though, since my copy of "The Land is Inhospitable..." had the same problems, and that one even skipped.

  • Stunning Album Release

    4 out of 5 stars
    JkdolaAugust 25, 2025United States🇺🇸

This stunning album has been given an equally stunning release here. The artwork perfectly captures the album's atmosphere, and the lone "b." on side B's label made me laugh. The album itself sounds fantastic, with excellent mastering that highlights both the vocals and instruments beautifully.

  • Vinyl Quality Impressive Despite Flaws

    5 out of 5 stars
    dekeykegez4blJune 14, 2025United States🇺🇸

Arrived with some minor scuffs on the edges, but the sound quality is fantastic. The vinyl is thick and has no flaws, with a decently quiet surface. It doesn't sound drastically different from the digital version, though. The packaging is quite simple, but the raw material of the jacket is a nice detail. I just wish the lyric insert wasn't all messed up and out of order. I know it's on purpose, but this is one of those albums I'd like to follow along with.

  • Skipping on Favorite Song

    4 out of 5 stars
    wulwewrerc84February 18, 2025United States🇺🇸

Got this for $29 at u.o. and it's been working great until the song “drunk walk home” (which is one of my faves) and then it starts skipping in the latter half. But the rest of it is cool. 9/10. Review 1/5. (More To Come)
