Back in '76, Maestro Martino served up a mighty fine slice of jazz fusion. Packed with energy and brimming with his signature guitar licks, this album truly embodies the fusion spirit. Martino's guitar work, along with his synth playing, is simply outstanding. The synth sounds surprisingly good, I must say. The rest of the band members are also delivering top-notch performances, with some incredibly tight ensemble playing. If Herbie Hancock had picked up a guitar in '76, this is exactly what we'd be hearing. Don't miss out, give it a spin – it's definitely worth your time. Highly recommended.
This album is an incredible blend of styles. The sound quality on this pressing is fantastic!
This album is absolutely fantastic and truly legendary, so much so that it deserved some liner notes, which I ended up creating as part of my irregular series, "Lost Liner Notes." You can check it out here: https://bkush.medium.com/pat-martino-joyous-lake-3965e54df26b
