Like others have mentioned about this album's other LP versions, the run-out grooves are super tight, particularly on Side 1. My auto lift hoists the arm too soon, cutting off the last track. The audio's alright, but it lacks punch, and the pressing is dead flat. I'm a huge fan of this album, though, so I can deal with the shortened "Make a Picture.
Excellent pressing, thick vinyl - it's see-through but more like milk, not see-through like a window. Really nice pressing and sound quality.
This album is absolutely breathtaking, brimming with creativity, full of surprises, daring and just a touch wierd. The quality of the pressing is top-notch.
Musically, this album is absolutely phenomenal. Every single track is a gem. However, the pressing is an absolute disaster. Whoever approved this should seriously reconsider their career choice. I've never encountered such horrendous surface noise and distortions. And that's after giving it two thorough cleanings in the Degritter. This kind of neglect for quality will surely turn people away from vinyl once the initial excitement fades.
Amazing sounding album on black vinyl. Impactful, excellent clarity. Pure analog joy.
