The audio quality is quite nice, however, as mentioned by others, the record pressing is subpar with noticeable surface noise and pops even after cleaning, particularly on side one. It's a shame, but it doesn't detract from the music for me. I don't see any credit for it, but with "BG" etched in the dead wax, I'm curious if Bernie Grundman was involved in the mastering. It seems odd to hire him and then cut corners on the pressing, but I can't think of another meaning for "BG.
Quite a bit of crackling and surface hiss, despite a thorough cleaning.
I grabbed this fresh from a nearby record shop, and there weren't any signs or labels showing it's white vinyl. I've read the not-so-great reviews about other versions of this album, but I'm not having any of those problems with this one. The only thing I've picked up on is that it's a tad quiet, so I've gotta crank the volume a little higher than I normally would.
I'm just gonna chime in on all the surface noise issues people are talking about.
Tunes are brill and it's a top-notch album overall. Luv it loads β€οΈ.
