Back in 2019, when this reissue first hit the shelves, the Optimal version was sent out globally, covering the US and Canada too. But lately, perhaps even longer, the copies I've spotted in Canadian stores have a 'Made in Canada' sticker and a UMe logo on the back, instead of the Universal Music Group one. It's probable that anyone grabbing this in US or Canadian stores now is getting the Canadian pressing, which isn't listed in the database yet. The dead giveaway is the UMe logo on the back instead of the Universal Music Group one.
Sound is flawless! Among the top, if not the top, newly pressed vinyl in my collection… Absolutely love it! 👍🏻
Sounds awesome but there's always a static noise. Likely caused by damage in transit.
I owned the first Simply Vinyl pressing, which I parted with after receiving a serious offer. I'd always wished it would be reissued on vinyl, and now it has. I believe it's just a touch less dynamic than the Simply Vinyl version (I'm going by memory), the Timbales ? at the start of Hotel California are a bit more pronounced on the original, but overall, it sounds fantastic and I'm more than satisfied. The acoustic rendition of Hotel California on Track 2, Side 2 is excellent. For the price, it's a steal, as with many vinyl records nowadays, just swap the inners for better ones!
This album is one of the finest sounding records in my collection, it's right up there with MOV's pressing of Alice In Chains Unplugged, truly amazing dynamic range! I've experienced this album in every other format except the original Simply vinyl, and this one sounds just as good, if not even better in some ways.
