Out of the eleven tracks, only two are just 'meh.' These guys were terrible in so many ways. It's a crime and a disgrace that they made it to commercial radio.
Wow, this record and the pressing are fantastic!! I snagged a copy for just $10 that had a few visible scratches, but it plays near perfectly with minimal crackle and so much depth. It sounds absolutely stellar!!! Definitely grab a copy.
Every Nimbus series vinyl record I've listened to has been fantastic. Just so you know, the Nimbus Supercut LPs were exclusively sold through mail order as a promotion for Practical Hi-Fi or Hi-Fi Today magazine subscribers in the early 1980s, with only about 1000 copies pressed for each title. Each release was mastered from the original master tapes using an all-tube mastering process, with no limiting applied, to achieve a top-notch pressing that closely captured the original recording's sound. Nimbus even had ICI create an exceptionally pure vinyl for these pressings. You'll find a sticker on the main sleeve and 'Nimbus England' stamped in the dead wax of all titles.
My vinyl is in fantastic shape, zero surface noise during playback. It sounds amazing. I'm truly pleased with this album.
The gatefold sleeve for this LP replica is alright, but I really like the original MoFi 'lift up' jewel cases more.
