Product description

In the heart of 1979, George Harrison, the beloved former Beatle, released his eighth studio album, a self-titled masterpiece that captures a moment of pure contentment and creativity. This album, released on February 20, 1979, under BMG Rights Management (US) LLC, is a testament to Harrison's growth as an artist and a man, reflecting his newfound domestic bliss with his wife Olivia Arias and their newborn son Dhani.

Recorded throughout 1978, many of the tracks were penned in the serene landscapes of Hawaii, infusing the album with a laid-back, breezy vibe that's as soothing as a tropical breeze. The album's opening track, "Love Comes to Everyone," sets the tone with its gentle, uplifting melody, while standout tracks like "Blow Away" and "Your Love Is Forever" showcase Harrison's signature songwriting prowess and musical virtuosity. The album also includes a demo version of "Here Comes the Moon" and "Blow Away," offering a fascinating glimpse into Harrison's creative process.

With a duration of just under 47 minutes, this album is a journey through Harrison's musical evolution, blending elements of pop, rock, and soft rock to create a sound that is uniquely his own. Whether you're a longtime fan of George Harrison or a newcomer to his music, this album is sure to captivate and inspire. So, grab your headphones, turn up the volume, and let the timeless melodies of George Harrison transport you to a place of pure musical bliss.

  • Guitar Shines on Growing Album

    4 out of 5 stars
    PmPepooDecember 12, 2025United States🇺🇸

Over time, this album has really grown on me, though I still think side one outshines side two, which leans more towards ballads. The guitar work is stunning, especially on "Your Love Is Forever". The sound quality of this pressing is excellent, offering a smooth and detailed soundstage. My copy plays back nicely, with just a bit of faint surface noise here and there.

  • Beatles Reissue Quality

    5 out of 5 stars
    MolulafhOctober 13, 2025United States🇺🇸

I must say, I was truly blown away by the quality of this reissue. The packaging is handled with such care, it's almost like it's a Jazz album (Top Notch, indeed!). The record itself is perfectly flat, super quiet, and the overall quality is just outstanding. Among all the solo Beatles records, this one definitely stands out as the best in terms of care and product quality.

  • Audio Quality Delight

    5 out of 5 stars
    wujezcymoojooOctober 12, 2025United States🇺🇸

The audio quality is absolutely amazing. It's incredibly lively and rich. Each instrument sounds so real and authentic. I don't have anything else to compare it to, but I'm truly delighted with what I'm hearing.

  • Great Underrated Album

    4 out of 5 stars
    ubq0l2June 22, 2025United States🇺🇸

The album sounds really great. It's well recorded and mastered. There aren't any standout tracks, but it all flows together nicely. It's underrated and deserves more attention.

  • George's Masterpiece Reborn

    5 out of 5 stars
    Fhgq.Rsabb-VorqexJune 7, 2025United States🇺🇸

George's best album since 'All Things Must Pass'! Each track fits perfectly together...underappreciated and totally George-ous. N
