Rainbo Pressing Impressive, Missing Insert

There's hardly any surface noise, which is quite impressive for a Rainbo pressing. The vocals are crystal clear, and the bass and drums pack a real punch. I didn't encounter any issues with the ends of the sides on my copy. Overall, it's a really solid release. It's a bit of a bummer that the original insert isn't included, and the jacket and new insert have been changed since this is from a different label than the original copies. Plus, none of the money from these reissues goes to Jello anymore.

For $13, this record seems alright, but it's really off balance and the sound quality drops a lot towards the end of each side. I suppose that's what you get with an LP that's 45 minutes long. There's just way too many grooves packed in there. If it were me, I'd look for an older version unless you come across a steal like I did. It's not bad, but it's definitely not what I'd call "audiophile" quality.

Overall, the sound is pretty decent but the vocals have a lot of harsh 's' sounds, particularly on 'This Could Be Anywhere' and 'Chicken Farm'. Plus, my vinyl record was quite wavy as well.

This is spot on like my copy, except for one thing: mine came with a 'No more censorship defense fund' leaflet, aiding Jello's legal fees. It's got quotes from Jello and his ACLU attorney from '86. The other side's ads for AT's releases. I probably picked it up in '87.
