Initially, this album was tough for me to get into. It dropped during my intense cancer treatment, and as much as I adored it, the songs reminded me of those tough weeks for a long time after. It wasn't fair; I wanted to cherish this album. The tracks were fantastic. Then, in November 2024, Twenty One Pilots hit Australia for a tour. I was lucky enough to be well enough to attend, and it was an incredible night. Something shifted inside me. Hearing these new songs live was like therapy. I fell in love with this album all over again. It was in the darkness of my cancer journey that the light from this album truly shone. “Routines Of The Night” is a reminder of my hospital stays, so that track means the world to me. My all-time favorite will always be “At The Risk Of Feeling Dumb”, but there are so many other gorgeous and inventive songs here. This is truly an album that I treasure deeply.
The audio quality is great, even though my copy got a bit bent, it didn't mess with the sound, minimal surface noise here 👍. The PVC sleeve for the listening party is a bit snug, I ended up scuffing the jacket trying to fit it back in, so I just tossed the sleeve.
Man, this vinyl's sound quality is way above the Barnes and Noble version. It even beats the Indie Exclusive edition. Honestly, I'm blown away by how great it sounds for a Walmart exclusive. The audio is super dynamic, zero cracks or pops, and no warping at all. Plus, the red and black splatter design looks awesome!
Every song is lined up just right, in perfect order. If you're new to the music, it's an awesome album to get into the rich backstory of Twenty One Pilots. Plus, it nods to the last two albums in the first and final tracks.
