In my opinion, the CDs sound like they were recorded on the sly. They're missing that crispness and seem to have a bit too much low-end. Jimmy's guitar playing, for the most part, comes across as muffled and all jumbled. Plant's singing and the audience noise are the only things that stand out clearly. I'd say it's not a top-notch listening experience. Maybe that's just how it was that night, though?
I absolutely love this concert in every format. Sure, the vinyl might have some problems (I reckon my copy's got a hiccup in Rock And Roll), but the main thing is it's Zeppelin delivering an incredible performance for their final show. Hearing these tracks played so brilliantly in 2007 is something to cherish (Ramble On, The Song Remains The Same and Kashmir are absolutely stunning, in my view). A definite must-have for any fan.
The sound quality of this collection is way below what you'd find on the Jimmy Page Remastered albums or other recent Led Zeppelin reissues, so consider yourself cautioned.
The CDs, in my opinion, sound like they were recorded on the fly. They're missing that crispness and seem to have an excess of bass. Jimmy's guitar playing, for the most part, comes across as muffled and distorted. Plant's vocals and the crowd's noise are the most distinct elements on the CDs. I wouldn't call it a top-notch listening experience. Maybe that's just how they were that night?
Managed to snag a sealed copy, Took it out and found 2 LP1 but no LP3. Rubbish.
