The packaging was a bit disappointing, but the split black and “gold” color scheme makes up for it.
Looks and sounds fantastic! The gold isn't quite 'gold' (it's more like a mustard brown, perhaps?) but it still looks amazing and goes perfectly with the cover.
The album sounds fantastic! I wasn't sure what to anticipate, as Hollywood Records releases can either be outstanding or just okay. But this one sounded amazing right from the first spin. The cover seems to have a subtle glossy finish, which is a nice touch—none of the other urban releases have had this so far, and I hope they continue with it. I also appreciate that they included an image on the back of the record sleeve instead of using the standard CD design. Highly recommend this one!
Absolutely adore this album! Over the moon to finally have it on vinyl. That said, the price tag seems a tad steep for what you get... no gatefold, no insert, not even a printed inner sleeve... the lack of care is disappointing. As for the pressing, it's alright, but not keen on this 'gold' color and the split tone didn't quite work on my copy, looks like there's a puddle in the middle. But what truly counts - THE SOUND IS FANTASTIC! Super clear, zero surface noise. Did notice that in a few songs some background vocals are a bit too low compared to the digital version but apart from that it's flawless!
The packaging is super boring. The record's sound is okay, but there's a bunch of static between songs. Blah. Urban Outfitters didn't put much effort in.
