Blimey, well done, Speakers Corner. These blokes never fail to knock it out of the park.
Never having owned the original, I can't compare the sound quality directly -- but I must say, this record sounds fantastic! It's a super clean pressing, with a warm, balanced mix that's got a bit of a forward kick. Plus, the UV coated, thick jacket gives it that classic, old-school feel.
I can't comment on other pressings from this year, but this one is the real thing... absolutely incredible. It's like Al Green is performing live in your room if you've got a decent setup. I've heard Speakers Corner offers an "audiophile" edition of this album... but if you've got this version, you've got the original audiophile gem.
Without a doubt, amazing. Al Green's "Jesus is Waiting" is incredibly moving and powerful.
An absolute masterpiece, not just among soul records but among all albums. The quality of this pressing is superb.
