Product description

Daniel Herskedal's latest masterpiece, Call For Winter II: Resonance, is a captivating 44-minute journey that invites listeners to immerse themselves in a world of sonic exploration. Released on 27 September 2024 via Edition Records, this album is a testament to Herskedal's innovative spirit and creative depth.

The tracklist is a carefully curated sequence of compositions, each one a unique thread in the intricate tapestry of sound that Herskedal has woven. From the haunting beauty of 'Call For Winter II' to the introspective 'My Child', and from the evocative 'White Mountain Sunrise' to the mesmerising 'Walking The Clouds', every piece is a window into Herskedal's imaginative universe.

Throughout the album, Herskedal's music conjures vivid images of the natural world, from the celestial wonder of 'Is The Midnight Sun The Same Sun?' to the earthy, primal energy of 'Gæjkedh-vearelde'. The North Star shines bright, guiding the listener through the shifting landscapes of sound, while 'Thawing Permafrost' and 'The Tilt Of The Axis' reveal the artist's fascination with the dynamic interplay between light and darkness, warmth and cold.

With Call For Winter II: Resonance, Daniel Herskedal has created a work of profound beauty and emotional resonance, one that will linger in the listener's mind long after the final notes of 'Ziir' have faded away. This is an album that rewards close attention and repeated listening, revealing new depths and textures with each successive play.

This 2024 Limited Edition LP is pressed on White vinyl.

Fantastic white vinyl edition of a strikingly beautiful album that draws you in with its enveloping soundscape. The copy I received included an A5 insert featuring an essay by Daniel about the creation of this album, and it's even autographed by him!
