Product description

Immerse yourself in the captivating world of Margaret Brouwer's orchestral masterpiece, "Aurolucent Circles / Mandala / Remembrances," released in 2006 under the prestigious Naxos label. This album is a testament to Brouwer's extraordinary compositional prowess, showcasing her ability to blend intricate musical narratives with profound emotional depth.

The album opens with "Aurolucent Circles," a three-movement suite that takes listeners on a cosmic journey. From the ethereal "Floating in Dark Space" to the dynamic "Stardance" and the rhythmic "Cycles and Currents," Brouwer's orchestration paints vivid sonic landscapes that are both expansive and intimate.

Following this, the two-movement "Mandala" offers a meditative contrast. "Journey" and "Sand Mandala" evoke a sense of spiritual exploration and tranquility, highlighting the album's diverse emotional palette.

The album concludes with "Remembrances," a poignant piece that underscores Brouwer's ability to convey deep sentiment through music. Performed by the esteemed Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Gerard Schwarz, with contributions from percussionist Evelyn Glennie and trombonist Kevin Price, this album is a symphonic tour de force.
