Product description

Immerse yourself in the timeless melodies of Ahmed Rushdi's "Andhi Mohabbat," a captivating soundtrack that beautifully complements the 1964 Pakistani film of the same name. Directed by Amin Malik, the movie features a stellar cast, including Laila and Akmal, and the music by Ahmed Rushdi, Gulzar, and Irene Parveen adds a layer of depth and emotion to the narrative.

This album, released on January 1, 1964, under the label 1979 EMI (Pakistan) Ltd., is a harmonious blend of ghazal and qawwali genres, showcasing the versatility and vocal prowess of Ahmed Rushdi. The seven tracks, spanning a total of 25 minutes, are a testament to the rich musical heritage of Pakistan. Standout tracks like "Ham Nahin Andhey Andhey" and "Teri Kheyr Sakhiya Dey Ja Raah-e-Maula" highlight the album's ability to evoke a range of emotions, from longing to devotion.

Ahmed Rushdi's contributions to this soundtrack are particularly noteworthy. His rendition of "Bacha Lo Bacha Lo Apna Dil" is a poignant plea to protect one's heart, while "Ab Khata Muaaf Ho Aakhir Main Tera Banda Hoon" is a heartfelt apology. The album also features the enchanting voices of Gulzar and Irene Parveen, adding to its musical richness.

"Andhi Mohabbat" is not just an album; it's a journey through the soulful expressions of love, longing, and spirituality. Whether you're a fan of ghazal or qawwali, or simply appreciate beautiful music, this album is a treasure trove of melodic brilliance that continues to resonate with audiences today.

About Ahmed Rushdi

Ahmed Rushdi, born on April 24, 1934, in Hyderabad Deccan, India, was a legendary Pakistani playback singer whose voice defined the golden age of Pakistani film music. Known for his versatility and distinctive high tenor notes, Rushdi was a pioneer in South Asian music, often regarded as the first pop singer of the region. His iconic song "Ko Ko Korina" from the 1966 film Armaan remains a timeless classic. With a career spanning decades, Rushdi's discography is a treasure trove of emotional depth and musical brilliance, encompassing genres like ghazal and qawwali.
