I must say, the audio quality on this record really took me aback - an impressive amount of songs packed onto just two sides, yet the mastering held up strong, with no apparent compression or distortion. Each track hits hard, sounding crisp and wide, with a well-defined soundstage. I only deducted a star because this particular copy isn't a gatefold like earlier releases, and there's some noticeable surface noise during the quieter parts of the album. That said, it's not enough to take away from the music or impact the overall sound quality. After several listens, this has become one of my top Motörhead albums, with a solid selection of tracks that could easily be considered among their finest. Incredible that they were still producing such high-caliber work so late in their career. Born to die, live to win. Long live Lemmy.
Arrives all squished up in that shiny stock inner sleeve. If you care about your record and/or stylus, do yourself a solid and give it a good clean before spinning. Even a basic plastic or plain paper sleeve would've been a step up.
