  • Still Satisfied After Years

Happy I purchased this back when I was younger and still own it today.

  • Gilmour's Brilliant Solo Mastery

    4 out of 5 stars

Some tracks have a bit of a muffled sound, but overall, I really enjoy this album. Gilmour's vocals are still fantastic, and his guitar skills, as usual, are extraordinary. I concur with the previous comment about 'On An Island' and 'Rattle That Lock' – they're incredible and showcase Gilmour's brilliant solo work.

  • Rediscovered Gem

Grabbed this one not long ago, hadn't listened since it first came out, and boy did I forget what a gem this album is.

  • David's Impressive Debut

    4 out of 5 stars
    HizmaazMamuzfzFEApril 17, 2025United States🇺🇸

David's debut album post-Pink Floyd is an amazing journey throughout. The sound quality is really impressive as well - crystal clear with a rich musical experience and a nice distinction between the instruments.

  • Extended Outro Bonus

    5 out of 5 stars
    inqinFebruary 20, 2025United States🇺🇸

Upon comparing this to the original CD version, I must say it's quite similar, with just a touch more volume. There's a bit of peaking during the louder parts, but it's not excessive. From what I can hear, this release isn't over-compressed. What I really appreciate is the extended outro on the final track, 'Near the End', which lets you enjoy more of Gilmour's lead. It's a small detail, but for me, any extra chance to listen to him play is a bonus.

About David Gilmour

David Jon Gilmour, born on March 6, 1946, in Grantchester Meadows, Cambridge, is a legendary English guitarist, singer, and songwriter, best known as a member of the iconic rock band Pink Floyd. Joining the band in 1967, just before the departure of founding member Syd Barrett, Gilmour's distinctive guitar playing and emotive vocals became a cornerstone of Pink Floyd's sound. With albums like "A Momentary Lapse of Reason," "The Division Bell," and "The Endless River," Gilmour led Pink Floyd to continued success and critical acclaim following the departure of Roger Waters in 1985. Beyond his work with Pink Floyd, Gilmour has also released solo albums, including his latest, "Luck and Strange," which has garnered widespread praise. His live performances are renowned for their intimacy and depth, as seen in his 2016 concert at the Amphitheatre of Pompeii. Gilmour's contributions to progressive and symphonic rock have solidified his status as one of the most influential musicians in rock history.
