This album is absolutely fantastic. Straightforward, yet deep and moving. Probably won't get another pressing because classical music elitists consider this one of his "lesser works." Completely disagree; though maybe DG will give it a quality repress like the rest!

It's akin to film trailers; a mosaic of brief yet ingeniously crafted pieces. This music is both metropolitan and rustic. Richter is a virtuoso at merging the synthetic with the natural in such an engaging manner. This album is an accomplishment that only a genius could conceive and produce. It's a deliberate endeavor to seize our attention just long enough before whisking us away on another swift narrative, one only Richter could craft. Repeated listens unveil fresh significance each time these songs are revisited. Thanks to their brevity, they grant the listener just enough time to grasp an idea and drift a little each time.
