Whether a review is positive, negative, or neutral, we always publish it. However, we screen every review to ensure it is authentic and free of profanity. These checks happen automatically, though a human occasionally steps in. We never pay for reviews.
I can’t believe the reissue is so expensive. I’m glad I bought mine back in 2013.
An album that sounds better as the years drift by. Great album, we know that. This limited edition isn’t going to get anyone wet. You don’t get piles of extras. Just the CD and a poster in a fairly innocuous box. Must have made a few of these as Ive got number 165063 🤣. Wonder what the amount pressed was ? Nevermind, its a fantastic album. The next Blur album I like is Thr Ballad of Darren. That feels like a different life in a different world.
I know that this could be considered somewhat an Albarn album but I have so much feels for this album. It shows the genius of the band, it has so much good songs. Such various vibes. For me this is in my top 10 of best albums ever.
I feel like there's a lump on a certain bass frequency that makes it very resonant, the selftitled for example is much more flat (and pleasing). It also seems like there are slight distortions from the factory, throughout the whole record, popping scratching sounds.
A continuation of Blur’s departure from Brit Pop , so sounds very experimental… but only Coxen’s Coffee & TV is worthwhile, after that track the album gets darker and slower- actually quite boring
