In my opinion, this could very well be Diana Ross' finest solo album. The production work done by Ashford & Simpson is absolutely outstanding. 'The Boss,' pressed on 180 gram red vinyl, looks and sounds fantastic. I didn't own this vinyl before, and the price was just right. The packaging was quite nice, save for the paper inner sleeve. Not using a polyethylene lined sleeve led to some static when I first played it. All in all, this version of 'The Boss' doesn't seem to have been remastered. The sound quality improved after I cleaned the vinyl with anti static spray and switched to a proper inner sleeve for keeping it safe.

Interestingly, a remix of The Boss catapulted Diana back to the top of the Billboard Dance Chart in 2019, an impressive four decades after its initial release!
