  Purchased brand new, it arrived sealed, however, there were several surface scratches on one side of the record. It sounds alright though.

  This pressing is alright, it'll get the job done. It's a tad harsh and bright in places, with some pretty rough IGD on particular S, T, and SH sounds, but it's not like the original VU recordings were flawless.

  Fantastic looking vinyl! It's heavy-duty, transparent, and the edges are trimmed to perfection. I don't recall ever owning a record with such flawlessly shaved edges. The sound quality is impressive, and it's an excellent deal for $26. Update: there are some awful left channel drop outs occurring, it's not my turntable or the mix because I have an original and it plays just fine.

  I recently had the chance to check out this album at a friend's place (he just got it) and it sounds fantastic. The most notable thing for me is that it includes the extended version (I think) of "Sweet Jane" which has the "Heavenly wine and roses" section that was edited out back in '70, much to Lou Reed's dislike who had already parted ways with the band before the album's initial release.

  Don't just take my word for it, this album has never sounded this incredible. I wish I could put this version up against the 45rpm double LP that's priced similarly, but I can't see it being any better than this.
