Dit album is een meesterwerk van de Britse componist Sir Edward Elgar, dat in 2014 werd uitgebracht door het label Chandos. De opname omvat twee van Elgars meest geliefde werken: "The Dream of Gerontius" en "Sea Pictures". "The Dream of Gerontius" is een oratorium dat in 1900 werd gecomponeerd en het verhaal vertelt van de laatste droom van een stervende gelovige en de reis van zijn ziel door de dood. Het werk is een krachtige en emotionele uitdrukking van Elgars religieuze overtuigingen en wordt beschouwd als een van zijn meesterwerken.
"Sea Pictures" is een cyclus van vijf liederen voor zangstem en orkest, die Elgar tussen 1897 en 1899 componeerde. De liederen zijn gebaseerd op gedichten van verschillende auteurs en vertellen verhalen over de zee en haar mysteries.
