Heinrich Lichner

Heinrich Lichner, a distinguished German composer, is celebrated for his elegant and accessible piano compositions, particularly his teaching pieces that have become staples in classical piano education. Born in Harpersdorf, Silesia, Lichner's music is characterized by a light, fluent classical style with subtle romantic influences, as heard in his renowned sonatinas such as Opp. 4, 49, and 66. Beyond his composing, Lichner was a dedicated organist at the historic church of the 11,000 virgins and later served as the director of a saengerbund in Breslau, where he spent the latter part of his life.
